here is the story behind it....
construction began on the building, which was originally intended for RI Freemasons, in 1926. in 1928, work on the Masonic Temple stopped when funds ran low due to the great depression. Masons walked off the job, leaving the building unfinished. so the building remained unfinished for nearly 80 years. and during this period the temple was the mecca for Rhode Island graffiti artist.
the building is now a hotel and restaurant, when the builders where designing the restaurant and lounge they decided that since it had been for graffiti for so long, that they would save some of the history, so they commisioned one of the graffiti artists who had alot of work in the building to remake some graffiti
we were talking to the bar tender and she was telling us that, it took them a while to find him because its all underground and no one had any clue of who he was. and when they did hire him he didnt want the construction workers to know who he was so he broke back into the building after the workers left for the day and did the graffiti for the restaurant in one night.
she also said that the basements are still covered with graffiti.
